§ 156.05. COURTHOUSE SQUARE HISTORIC DISTRICT.

  • (A) The Courthouse Square Historic District is established. Generally, this district encompasses Main Street from Pennsylvania to East Streets and State and East Streets from South Street to North Street; specifically, this district is delineated on a map, identified as Map 1, which is made a part of this chapter by reference. The historic resources in the Courthouse Square Historical District have been recorded in the “Hancock County Interim Report” as part of the Indiana Sites and Structures Inventory, June, 1983. Another report, “Revitalization Plan for Greenfield, Indiana,” November, 1983, prepared by Howard Needles Tammen & Bergendoff, analyzes and explains conditions in the Courthouse Square Historical District. A copy of each of these reports are on file in the offices of the City Clerk-Treasurer and the Historic Preservation Officer and are available for public inspection during regular office hours.
    (B) The historic district boundary maps required by § 156.04 are hereby adopted by reference as fully as if set out in length herein, and are hereby approved by the Common Council.
