§ 113.05. INSPECTION.

  • No taxicab shall be operated within the city unless it is in good repair and in a safe, clean, and sanitary condition. It shall be the duty of the Chief of Police to inspect every taxicab every 90 days and ascertain that the taxicab is in good repair and in a safe, clean, and sanitary condition so as to be capable of safely and comfortably transporting passengers therein. If, on inspection, such taxicab is found in an unsafe or unsanitary condition, the Chief of Police may immediately order such taxicab withdrawn from service until placed in a safe and sanitary condition, and, on failure to comply with such order, the license of such taxicab may be revoked by the Common Council.
