§ 31.12. APPOINTMENT OF VARIOUS DEPARTMENT MEMBERS, DEPARTMENT HEADS.

(A) The members of the Board of Public Works and Safety are the Mayor and two voters of the city who shall be chosen by the Mayor and serve at his pleasure.
(B) The Chiefs of the Police and Fire Departments, the City Attorney, and the City Engineer are appointed by the Mayor and serve at his pleasure.
(C) Pursuant to I.C. 36-4-9-2, the Mayor shall appoint the heads of the other departments with the approval of the statutory board or commission operating the department. Such appointees serve at the pleasure of the Mayor.
